MetallicBrains Metal Radio (“we”, “the site”) is a free online radio that plays official music videos from YouTube. This page explains what information is involved when you use the site.
YouTube
All music on this site is played through the YouTube embedded player, and the site uses YouTube API Services to list videos from labels' public channels and playlists. By using MetallicBrains Metal Radio you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube and Google process data according to the Google Privacy Policy.
We load the player from youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode). When the video plays, YouTube may store cookies or similar data in your browser and receive your IP address, browser information and viewing activity. We do not control that processing; please see Google's policy above.
We do not use YouTube API Services to access your YouTube or Google account, and we never ask you to sign in. We do not receive or store any data about you from YouTube.
What we store
- No accounts. Listening requires no sign-up. We use no advertising trackers; for usage statistics see “Analytics” below.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information such as your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you visit, processed under Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- Your browser only: your volume setting, language choice and the “keep screen on” preference are saved in your own browser. They never leave your device, except the language cookie that tells our server which language to show.
- Listener count: while a page is open, your browser sends a random anonymous ID every 30 seconds so we can show how many people are listening. We keep it with a one-way hash of your network address and delete both within 10 minutes.
- Playback reports: when a video can't be played, or its length is unknown, your browser tells our server the video ID and the length. To prevent abuse we keep a one-way hash of your network address together with these reports; we never store the address itself.
- Source submissions: if you use “Submit a source”, we store the name, email address, link and note you enter, plus a hash of your network address for spam protection, so we can review your suggestion and reply to you. We use them for nothing else and delete them on request.
- Spam protection: the “Submit a source” form may use Google reCAPTCHA. When you open the form, Google receives information such as your IP address and browser data to tell people from bots, under Google’s own privacy policy. reCAPTCHA is not loaded anywhere else on the site.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and troubleshooting, for a limited time.
Data from YouTube
We keep public video information (title, length, publish date, video ID) and public channel artwork to build the stream. This information is refreshed from YouTube regularly, and videos removed from YouTube or their source are removed from the site.
Your rights & contact
To ask about, correct or delete a source submission you sent, use the “Submit a source” form on the home page and mention it in the note, or reply to our email. We will act on your request promptly.
All videos and artwork belong to their respective owners.
